Media General Hosts Diversity Job Fair
RICHMOND, Va. — Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) and The Tampa Tribune will host a Diversity Job Fair Oct. 10 & 11, 2002 at the Radisson Riverwalk Hotel in Tampa, Fla.
One of several regional job fairs sponsored by ANSE and NAA, the Diversity Job Fair is designed to connect newspaper recruiters with African American, Hispanic, Asian American and Native American job candidates. Students from Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida will be invited to attend workshops and meet recruiters interviewing for business, print, television and online positions and internships.
Workshops will be offered the morning of Thursday Oct. 10. Workshop topics include:
- Ethics: Not For Sale
- Getting Your First Internship or Job
- The Total Package: The marriage of content and visuals in the new multimedia newsroom
Open interviews will take place Thursday afternoon. A reception Thursday evening will feature tours of The News Center, Media General's multimedia showcase that houses the newsrooms of The Tampa Tribune, WFLA-TV and TBO.com. Scheduled interviews will take place Friday, Oct. 11.
